The baby's little tiny heart was fluttering away! It was so sweet to see her (yes... we consider this baby a "her") even though she's not quite an inch long yet! How crazy is that. So little! I still can hardly believe this is all happening. It's so exciting and so humbling. :) Plus, now that I have a prescription for pills to help my morning-sickness, things will be a lot more pleasant. Thank heavens.

Minor change...
Ryan and I went to my first doctor's appointment today. It turns out that I'm only 8 weeks along, not 10 like I thought, and my due date is in fact in December... ugh. December 9th. I always said I'd avoid having babies in December if possible. I'll feel bad when my child gets to the point that she complains about having her birthday at the same time as Christmas. But oh well! Maybe she'll come early... haha. Or she may not even care when her b-day is. I know lots of people have their b-days in december, and I'm not putting it down! It will be hard with RSV season though... Speaking of that, we know this means we for sure won't be traveling home for Thanksgiving, which isn't too big of a deal. But Christmas? I'm not sure yet... Does anyone out there suggest that we keep the baby home for Christmas (when she's 2 weeks old) instead of going to Salt Lake? Or do you think as long as we're protective of her that we could make the trip up there so family could meet her? I'd hate to miss Christmas... what do you think?

Time is flying!
Last post was about spring in Utah... and this week Vegas has reminded us that it is SUMMER. Or at least close to it. We've had temps in the 90's and I just dread the triple digits coming around the corner. Plus, unless you've actually spent a lot of time here, you wouldn't know how windy it always is! Seriously, it's always windy. When it's 110+ degrees and windy, you don't even need to blow-dry your hair... just walk outside and stand there for a few minutes. It gets the job done. But I probably shouldn't focus on what isn't quite here yet.

As far as updating you on the pregnancy... the last few weeks have been tough. I've been feeling morning sick and light headed/drained. Have you ever seen the youtube video with the little boy after the dentist? He's all drugged up and he looks at his dad with the saddest look and says, "Is this gonna be FOREVER?!" That's how I feel these days... I have to keep reminding myself that I won't always feel this crappy - it will go away and there is a wonderful blessing to come! Anyway, I've been taking half a unisom and half a B-6 supplement twice a day to help with the sickness, and it has seemed to give me an appetite and keep me from getting the "gaggy" feeling all the time! Needless to say, I've been really tired from the pills... but I've also had the STRANGEST dreams lately. Last night alone, I remember at least 4 different dreams... two of them were nightmares that I had between 10:30 pm and 11:30 pm! So I tend to wake up even more tired in the morning. To put another plug in for Ryan, he has been so amazing these last few weeks. He has been so understanding, and loving, and forgiving, and always ready to serve me with whatever I need at that moment. He's wonderful.
Ryan started his last block of the first year of medical school. I can't believe we've made it through this year already. It went by so fast. Ryan has done such a great job staying on top of everything and handling all the stresses. Not only is he getting good grades, and studying every day, but he's also running for a student government position, working out every night, and he joined a local triathlete club with full intentions of competing in a sprint triathlon in a few months! He's amazing. I don't know how I deserve to have such a wonderful man at my side... or should I saw leading the way!
Speaking of school, here are some photos of his school after the new facade was added and the signs were put up. I don't think anyone in Utah (even family) has seen the finished product.
(remember the plain old white building with no windows? well... there still are no windows - the ones you can see on the second level are completely fake... but at least there is something to the building now!)
Last weekend, Ryan and I saw the movie 17 Again. It was really good! We both liked it a lot and are definitely buying it when it comes out. Of course I think Zac Efron is pretty dang fine... but the movie in general is really good and has a great theme. Has anyone noticed how tired and run-down Matthew Perry is looking? Or maybe they played it up in the movie even more than he is in real life.
Well anyways, that's all I have for you today. :)
*** UPDATE: I just saw Matthew Perry on Ellen and he does in fact look that tired and run-down in real life... Just wanted to clear that up!

Easter and Spring!
Ryan has a couple weeks off of school, and I was able to get a week off of work! So we headed up to Salt Lake to visit with family and announce our big news. On saturday we dyed eggs and hid some plastic eggs in my parents' backyard for my 2 nephews. I'm so glad it wasn't snowing!
She opened the card and it said "To my future family... I can't wait to meet you! Love, Baby Turner". Originally I wanted to use my friend's idea which she got from someone else's blog, but since I was feeling so sick I knew that I would need to tell their family as soon as possible in the day. Otherwise they would wonder why I was in a bad mood or they might figure it out before I could announce it. Anyway, the idea was that at dinner Ryan would get up and announce that he'd be taking a group picture of the family. Then he would say "Ok everyone say 'JAMIE'S PREGNANT!' " He would have snapped the picture right as everyone was reacting. It would have a been a fun thing to see! - but maybe we'll do that one next time. :)
That evening everybody (including grandparents) came over for dinner and a great easter egg hunt for the 3 kids which took forever to set up and for the kids to finish! There were so many eggs and they were FULL of candy. Everyone had a great time.

On Monday, Ryan and I met his sister Jessi and her 3 kids at Temple Square. My goodness, was it gorgeous down there!! And it was PERFECT weather.Sorry I know this is a long post.... almost done!
My friend and I threw a wedding shower for Jen Little, our good friend from high school. She is marrying cute Paul Jeppson (also from our high school) in May. We had a great time with this group of girls, and had fun seeing all of the "time of day" gifts.
Good News!
Yep! We're going to have a baby. I'm about 8 weeks pregnant, and I have my first ultra-sound scheduled 2 weeks from now. I can't wait to hear and see our little jellybean baby! We are very excited about this and are looking forward to November 29th. Unfortunately, I have been feeling pretty sick (depending on the time of day it seems). But that's not even the worst part... for some reason Ryan smells really bad to me! The smell of his clothes and his skin are just... well I'm sure you know what I'm saying. He showers everyday and I personally do his laundry, so it's not like it's his fault! It's just my nose. But it sure doesn't help things when we want to cuddle... it makes him feel bad, even though I try to convince him it's not really him. :( Poor guy. Hopefully in a few more weeks those 2 symptoms will pass.
